I have a blog that used to be ranked well on Google and had upwards of 100 unique visitors per day. That was until about 2 months ago when suddenly the main keyword dropped to the bottom of page two of Google`s SERPS and my main source of traffic became Yahoo with Bing being a close second. I used an Amazon Autoposter Plugin which resulted in reasonable earnings but I think google eventually stopped linking the 3 new posts per day that were basically scraped content from Amazon.
After 2 months of hoping G would revert back to liking my site (this has happened in the past for a few weeks at a time), I have decided to refresh the site. I stopped the WP Robot plugin completely and was hoping to get some cheap but unique content from writers on Fiverr. I ordered one gig that was for 3 of 200 word blog posts for $5. She had decent ratings so I decided to go for it. Two days later I get a `completed gig` email and head to fiverr to find out she only submitted one of the posts and when I did some due diligence on it she basically copied one section of someone`s squidoo page and added about 20 words of her own unique content.
This was my second attempt at hiring a writer on fiverr. The first was worse! Someone offered 5 blog posts for $5 (too good to be true, yep). He ended up finding 5 ezine articles and spinning them. The writing was horrible and half of it wasn`t even readable! I complained stating that I didn`t like it and all he did was respin it! One of the articles still had the original resource box including a link to the original author`s site!
One thing I have been happy with is backlinking gigs on Fiverr. I bought a 50 profile link gig and it was done within 24 hours and all the ones I checked were great! Another one I have bought is a list of 2100 .edu sites that you can do your own links on (profile links, blog comments, etc).
Moral of the story: stay away from writing gigs on fiverr or do your own due diligence before accepting the gig. Fortunately the support there is quick and reasonable. I complained via the contact-us page and got my money refunded quickly 
The second one I just cancelled and the $5 will be returned in 2 days apparently…
